response to "the protests" discussion here ayt

for your houston protest, ron you should do some trashpicking 'round universities. scavenge, download some schematics and spend some midnight oil teaching yourself how to semi build the things you need. that's the best i could say. i won't suggest or condone stealing things here...could be counterproductive. sheri: i agree on many things you said about protestors. many. i still, however, intend to protest. i WON'T be showing up places to protest when i am told to by some JERK on the other end of a mailing list whom I don't even KNOW...but there are ways of protest... you said: "The last thing that we need as a community here is to get the services of some of these professional protesters that don't march for peace, but instead entice the police and in turn draw out numerous ways of crowd control. I think its a good idea to spread ourselves out and not act collectively in protest any longer, but have these small, peaceful displays of educating the public and feeling that we are being heard in some way. I would like to see the journals from these small gathering that indicate whether there is added direct hits to us remotely by participating, since this seems to the future for us (small protests) and we need to know our enemy." i think the next wave will be large protests -- but large protests that are not organzied, protests that are spontaneous. that's my prediction --
