The National Institute of Telecommunications, Department of Transmission and Optical Technologies in Warsaw, together with The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and the IEEE Photonics Society Poland Chapter are pleased to announce the 13th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks ICTON 2011 which will be kindly hosted by the KTH, Stockholm, Sweden, June 26-30, 2011.

ICTON conference, started in 1999, is a growing reality with, in the past 3 editions, more than 300 participants from more than 40 countries spread across Europe, US and Asia.

The scope of the Conference is concentrated on the applications of transparent and all-optical technologies in telecommunications, computing and novel applications, and includes:

  • Digital all-optical networks
  • Ultra-dense wavelength-division multiplexing
  • Ultra-fast optical time domain multiplexing
  • Next generation networking
  • Optical switching and routing (WAOR)
  • Optical packet networks and services
  • Optical memories and data storage
  • Quality of service issues
  • Optical transparency and network scalability
  • Network reliability and availability (RONEXT)
  • Wireless and optical networking (GOWN)
  • Radio-over-fibre transmission
  • Broadband metro and access networks
  • Industry and standardisation
  • Photonic band-gap structures (ESPC)
  • Photonic crystal fibres
  • Nonlinear and active PBG devices
  • Nanoscale and ultrafast photonics (NAON)
  • VCSELs and other novel light sources
  • Microresonators and photonic molecules (MPM)
  • Novel glasses
  • Photonic component integration (PICAW)
  • Market in telecommunications (MARS)
  • Network planning and design tools
  • Non-conventional optical communications
  • Sub-wavelength photonic devices
  • Communication in transportation systems (CTS)
  • Green optical communications (GOC)
  • Intelligent Systems for Optical Networks Design (ISOND)
  • Other relevant topics

Authors are cordially encouraged to submit the contributions (max. of 4 pages in electronic form, MS Word accompanied by a PDF version) for regular and poster sessions to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
by  March 31, 2011. Please state clearly for which workshop/session your submission is appropriate.

The authors will be notified on the acceptance by May 5, 2011. Post-deadline papers with very recent results are requested by June 1, 2011.

Ambitious technical and social programs and friendly relations are traditional ICTON goals. We are looking forward to the pleasure of welcoming you once again, this time in Stockholm in June 2011!

Even if I have poor knowledge in technology, when looking at the companies and the titles of the workshops and conferences that will take part in this congress in Stockholm next week, I can understand it has something to do with us. If anyone with better technology knowledge than me could pls read this and take a extra look at some of the seminairs it would be great, Nolimore? /Annie

Thanks so much for the reply Nolimore! Really appreciate it.

Actually, (and I know you should never ever believe what they-the ones doing this to us, says) they told me in the very beginning of my harassment that this is "fiber optic". I was sure that I was under surveillance, but couldnt understand how and were looking for cameras and all that "crazy" behavement...They then told me, this is high advance fiber optic, you will never find anything....As I had never before heard of "fiber optic" it caught my eye when reading about this conference, especially since the "head company" behind these all companies attending is the millitary intelligence research and one of the directors is also running a nanotech research company together with the doctor whom was the department manager at the same department were I had my surgery.... Maybe the story sounds complicated and blurry, but the bottom line is that there is a connection behind some of the companies that participate is this semninair ICTON, some of their advisory board members are also advisory board in other companies that are into nanotech and medical innavative research. Its difficult to even explain the complexicity in swedish, so in english its even worse...Sorry if I do not make any sense. thanks again for your help/Annie
