Department of Homeland Security Renews Stanford Research Institute International Contract for Support of the Cyber Security Research and Development Center
MENLO PARK, Calif. —September 28, 2010—SRI International, an independent nonprofit research and development organization, announced today that it has 
been
awarded a $9.7 million contract to continue support of the Cyber Security Research and Development Center (CSRDC) for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T). Since 2004, SRI has supported the CSRDC and has helped develop DHS S&T’s cyber security research and development program. Under the renewed contract, SRI will continue to provide technical, management, and subject matter expert support for the wide range of research, development, testing, evaluation and transition activities
conducted through the CSRDC. SRI has played a significant role in the development of the DHS S&T roadmap for cyber security research, innovation training for researchers in the program, program workshops and conferences, and collaboration initiatives for critical infrastructure sectors such as the finance and oil and gas sectors. "We are very pleased to have been selected to continue our role in this important program addressing cyber security of critical systems," said Ulf Lindqvist, Ph.D., program director in SRI’s Computer Science Laboratory and SRI’s project director for its support of DHS’s CSRDC . "The cyber security program in DHS S&T has achieved many significant accomplishments to date, taking new and innovative technologies all the way from initial ideas to deployment. SRI will continue to provide its world-leading expertise to this program, in the pursuit of improvements to cyber security in the government and private sectors."
