She was a miracle baby, being born with cystic fibrosis and no one detecting it, no one seeing how much weight she lost, and her failure to thrive was nearly deadly. At 7 months of age, she weighed 10 pounds, the breast milk was going right through her, she was not digesting any food. And then we went by ambulance to the university hospitals and they did all kinds of tests on her, and said, "your daughter has cystic fibrosis," and I was shocked and huddled her close to protect her, it sounded so absolute. Later, she would have the complications like others of psuedamonas and lung problems that lead to early death in many people with it. And now, I fund raise for a cure for this disease.
