Sound via headset/ear phones

To the victims  who may be undergoing the same thing, here's one latest observation: 

I witnessed somebody remove his headset and wonder aloud: i heard somebody say: XXXXXXXXXXX, where's that person?

I heard the  very same sound, didn't see the person who said it.
