François Hollande is an Atlanticist since a very long time. His diplomatic visit to the United States is for him a personal apotheosis. On a political level, this is equivalent to a “good conduct” certificate directly issued by the Empire, the whole thing acompagnied by a knighthood ritual for good and loyal services by the US Democratic party. Hands in hands with Obama, Hollande has shown an absolute disgusting fraternisation scene with the most controversed American and French big employers, tax evaders, decentralisers and leeches of the tax exemption. All this has shocked ordinary people who were made witnesses while watching TV. But the most despicable of these days without glory definitely remains his unconditional public rally for the Big Transantlatic Market project. Is it normal for such an important subject, to never be mentioned or evoqued by the head of state in France or to the French people, and to be addressed in these conditions? Under a joint signature with the president of the opposite party in the negotiation? And with such a disrespect for the intelligence of his countrymen?

François Hollande was the first to translate the French doctrine of "New Democratic Party" Bill Clinton introduced in the 80s. He is the one currently implementing it in France years after it sank in Europe in the most frenzied social liberalism and also the most right-wing. This state visit has been a long drink of emporious Atlanticism drunk at once and without restraint.

It is obvious to affirm that Hollande has shown the utmost convenience facing US power. Of course one could not have dreamt that Hollande would bother Obama about human rights towards certain prisons or the death row. Or neither mentioning the Assange or Snowden hunt. Indeed, human rights are conversational matters uniquely reserved about China, Cuba and so on. On a similar point, I did not expect either that he would have the guts to tackle his friend about the problem of his refusal to sign conventions on biological weapons or the delays of the chemical weapons destruction. Or to even sign any international conventions that the United States have refused to sign, like for instance the one on trade union freedoms, the children rights or landmines. Forget the time when France was meeting its own commitments aiming at the purpose of advocating for them. Why would Hollande be more faithful in those domains than any other ones?

But still! There was something to say about the fundamental interests of our country and its relationship with the USA. The press full of reverence was careful not to ask him any questions to what was said about spying the French by the NSA. This topic of unbearable surveillance upon the citizens by the authorities is a matter reserved to China and Cuba only. Holland was able to slip away from of the subject with a simple meaningless mention. A little tirade quickly replied, poorly translated in English, taken and recited from the catalog replicas offered by U.S. ambassadors in Europe.
No surprise: it is the same answer repeated, word for word, by all European parrots except for Madame Merkel who knows how to make herself respected. Judge the emptiness by yourself: “There is a mutual trust that has been instaured (and) whose foundations must take its source from the respect of each our countries and also the protection of our private lives(...)

Following the Snowden revelations, a clarification has been established in the past between President Obama and myself. A stinky translation of an approximative French, so to say. And the result is rather simple: USA have not apologised for spying upon France, its ambassadors and a few million French citizens. No future US commitments have been declared or announced concerning this scandal. Hollande also did not ask why he was pushed to the limits of the ridicule when he was forced to intercept Evo Morales's plane in order to hunt a Snowden who wasn't inside. No regrets either were expressed concerning his action.

In any case, he just sat at the same table with the almighty North American chief spy himself without any signs of any bad conscious whatsoever. General Keith Alexander was indeed present at that state dinner. And he ate heartily. Most relaxed. No regrets nor excuses.
