Gps tracking device evidence

I bought a itrail gps tracking device from the spy shop here in Reno,NV . My gps tracking device is suppose to show a trail of where I have been with it on a map. The only problem is the trail on my gps tracking device map is showing places that I have not been too with my gps tracking device.
