The second IAC 2006 plenary meeting was devoted to Earth Monitoring Systems.It was moderated by Dr Paul Weissenberg, Director, DG Enterprise and Industry, European Commission.The speakers were:- Dr Yasushi Horikawa, Executive Director, Office of Space Applications, JAXA, Japan- Dr Volker Liebig, Earth Observation Programme, European Space Agency/ESRIN- Dr Yuri Nosenko, Deputy Head, Federal Space Agency, Russia- Dr Conrad Varotto, CEO, CONAE and current Chair, Committee on Earth Observation Satellites, Argentina- Helen M. Wood, GEOS Director, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/NESDIS, USA
