r. Craig C. Mello, the 2006 Nobel Prize winner in Medicine or Physiology delivered the keynote address, "Return to the RNAi World: Rethinking Gene Expression, Evolution and Medicine" at the first annual Five College Undergraduate Science Research Symposium held at the Amherst campus of the University of Massachusetts on May 4, 2007. Dr. Mello was awarded the prize, along with colleague Dr. Andrew Z. Fire, for the discovery of RNA interference. In this video, he discusses his research and his experiences as a scientist and recent Nobel Prize winner. This symposium was sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute education award to the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Smith College.«
