How many planets does Solar System have?

Leading astronomers declared in August 2006 that Pluto is no longer a planet under historic new guidelines that downsize the solar system from nine planets to eight.

After a tumultuous week of clashing over the essence of the cosmos, the International Astronomical Union stripped Pluto of the planetary status it has held since its discovery in 1930.

For now, membership will be restricted to the eight "classical" planets in the solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

Pluto is automatically disqualified because its oblong orbit overlaps with Neptune's.

Instead, it will be reclassified in a new category of "dwarf planets," similar to what long have been termed "minor planets."

Does our Solar System only have eight planets?

Soleilmavis dared to make one Hypothesis that Solar System should have 12 planets.

There are four planets between the sun and the Asteriod Belt: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars; there are four planets between the Asteriod Belt and the Kuiper Belt: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. I dare to make one Hypothesis that there are four planets between the Kuiper Belt and the edge of the Solar system.

‘A woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.’ (Revelation 12:1)

If there are 12 planets in Solar System, they are twelve stars on the woman’s crown.

'Putting forward Original Hypotheses Creatively and Seeking out Abundant Proof Seriously' I wish to see more scientific discovery to proof my Hypothesis.

Scientists believe they may have found a new planet in the far reaches of the solar system, up to four times the mass of Jupiter. The claim comes from Rodney Gomes, a noted astronomer at the National Observatory of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro in May 2012. http://news.yahoo.com/planet-x-evidence-unseen-planet-solar-systems-edge-165439239.html

This good news let Soleilmavis have the hope that the assumption would become to truth.

The Hypothesis came from the following calculation:

Calculate Titius-Bode law with number 1, 2 and 12   (Table 1)

Currently, Scientists believe that after Kuiper Bell, there are 'trans-Neptunian objects(TNO). A subset of the broader family of trans-Neptunian objects is called 'scattered disc objects' The innermost portion of the scattered disc overlaps with a torus-shaped region of orbiting objects traditionally called the Kuiper belt, but its outer limits reach much farther away from the Sun and farther above and below the ecliptic than the belt proper.

90377 Sedna is a very large trans-Neptunian object, which as of 2011 was about three times as far from the Sun as Neptune. Sedna was discovered by Mike Brown (Caltech), Chad Trujillo (Gemini Observatory) and David Rabinowitz (Yale University) on November 14, 2003. Sedna has the longest orbital period of any known large object in the Solar System, calculated at around 11,400 years. Its orbit is extremely eccentric, with an aphelion estimated at 937 AU and a perihelion at about 76 AU, the most distant perihelion ever observed for any Solar System object.

At its discovery it was approaching perihelion at 89.6 AU from the Sun, and was the most distant object in the Solar System yet observed.

From the above calculation, Kuiper Bell is about 77.2 AU, Sedna which has a perihelion at about 76AU, is in the area of Kuiper Bell.
