Update: Resolved in the other thread linked below, thanks Cedric

Hi, can someone browse http://deepthought.newsvine.com/ and see if the whole webpage loads for them, it uses a scripted loading mechanic that only shows more when you scroll down, and for me, now only shows the first third, before the script stalls. It should look like this http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/7886/3rkj.jpg (3.3MB) in tile view

And if you can load the whole page would you scroll back to the top to change it to list view, save it as a 'complete webpage', and upload it as a zip file? Id like to have it as an archive, because most of the articles discuss synthetic telepathy

Thanks

UPDATE: it appears this threads turned into a troll fest. You may wanto read it, but if youd just like to help with what ive asked, might wanto confirm you know what to do by reading my comment on pg3 explaining everything entailed, thanks

Update2: Ive now started a new thread for the same purpose as this, and would prefer responses to be in that other thread, as ive explained all the info youd need to know the first post. See that thread HERE.  thanks

  • Hi, unfortunately no, Idont know how you saved that, its not a complete webpage capture: What you do is simply load the page as much as it can by scrolling down till it says its finished

then right click the page and choosing "Save as" (in Chrome) or "Save Page As" in Firefox, confirm the Save as type formats called "Webpage Complete" and itll save two things

    an htm file called "Deep_Thought - Newsvine.htm"

    and folder called "Deep_Thought - Newsvine_files"

Then you just zip those two things, and to open in your default browser, just click on that main htm file

  • Honestly cant anyone take 30 seconds of their time to check this for me, and its not hard to save a webpage, so if you DO sucessfully load the whole page, its as simple as making a zip file with whichever archive program you have installed

  • I wanted to do it, but my right click is disabled...

  • Chanath, why did you even reply? Right click is just an alternative way to access the standard menu options. If the page does fully loaded for you, could just use the standard menus to find an entry called Save As or Save Page As

  • ok, I'm not too good at this, so I have the folder on my desktop and apparently it is a .zip, what do I do now? maybe if I had your e-mail it would be easier?

  • Well at the bottom of these reply boxes is "Upload Files" it shows you that you can upload upto 5MB, just use that

please also be sure if you upload a full page, that youve changed the format to "List View" as seen in the icon options at the top left of the page because the complete webpage captures exactly what you see at the time, and the default "tile view" is just stupid

  • ok, so I sent something(?) to you by e-mail, hope it's the right thing!
