I am a survivor of childhood abuse which spiraled into a long relationship with a man who involved me the life filledwith domestic violence, and unfortunately I also went on to become a non-offending mother of a sexually abused child. I am developing two books. The first gives readers a front row seat toboth my own and my daughter’s trials and tribulations. The second is an anthology filled with experiences from men and women from many age groups, from most walks of life, and from many parts of the world. My quest is to hopefully educate those who have luckily not been subjected to abuse and offer encouragement to fellow families and survivors of abuse.
The purpose of my email is two -fold.
The first is to provide you with a link to provide you with details about my mission. There you will find a portion of my testimony along with other articles that I have authored so that you willlearn my writing style. If for whatever reason you cannot access these pages please let me know and I will send you my information in the body of an email.

The second is to ask to ask for your help to spread awareness on abuse and violence related issues. Due to the risk of slander I cannot include name of abusers. I am only using a first names or you may be anonymous. Details of your experience are welcome, so long as they are not graphic, however the focus of my book ismore so on how we coped and what helped you to survive. It is not necessary, but if you wish you mayinclude titles of books and organizations that were helpful to you. Please be sure to send a brief bio with your writing with things like age, your location, if you are employed or go to school, marital status, interests,etc.... Please try to limit it to 65 words orless.
If all goes well, my book is due for release in the early part of 2011. And for your help you will receive an e-book which will include my own, my daughters experiences and all the testimonies that I have gathered from others.
In closing, I leave you with a thought to ponder. Some people are under the impression that we can end abuse. I mean no disrespect, but honestly, these people who believe we will achieve the ending of abuse are looking at a different reality than I am. I might be wrong, but my belief is that we will never totally eliminate abuse. Nonetheless, I do believe we can lower thevictim population through one simple equation: Education + Awareness =Prevention.
I want to thank you in advance for caring enough to check out what I feel is a worthwhile venture and it is my hope thatyou will use my book as a platform to spread the word about your work.
If you need additional information or you would like join me in spreading awareness feel free to contact me at burt222@hotmail.com

Respectfully,
Sherry Clyburn
