Walter Cronkite & others, view of the 'new world order',Full article at 'Citizens That Know'Knowing, as I do, now, that it is foolish to buy into the personas or appearances of anything presented by the media, I find myself questioning whether to trust 'ol' Walt', the fatherly gent who used to reliably deliver the news to us right in our living rooms. Doesn't he sound like the depressive men that came of age in the 1950's, coming out of WW II and getting the jobs, the homes and starting families? Many of us born into this era, were handed off to MKUltra programs. Maybe it was a suave, serious, familiar sounding depressive and everyman like ol' walt who sealed the deal, convincing unsuspecting citizens, and now war veterans, that they were acting to support the common good against the Russians, 'facists' or other mean, nasty dictatosr from getting technological edge over the good ol' US of A? Did Walt report on Operation Paperclip? This man has just gotten top headlines simply for dying at a ripe old age, instead of committing suicide like a lot of citizens whose lives are destroyed by neighborhood vigilantes. Well, maybe we better pause and look at this and see what this media identity really was delivering to the American public.

LinksOrigins1914 - World War I began the modern era of code-breaking and intelligence gathering. Major Ralph Van Deman, the "father of American intelligence," created the Military Intelligence Section in the Army General Staff, and a Cipher Bureau (MI-8) within this section.1918 - America's first transatlantic radio intercept station was built on Gillin Farm in Houlton, Maine, just before the end of WWI .1920 - Herbert Osborne Yardley created the Black Chamber and began to monitor international cables, despite the Radio Communication Act of 1912 that guaranteed secrecy. This cable monitoring would become Operation Shamrock in 1945, administered in secret by the Signal Intelligence Service, then by the Army Security Agency in Sept. 1945, by the Armed Forces Security Agency in 1949, and by the NSA in 1952. It would be the largest intercept program in US history until officially ended in 1975.1921 - Washington Conference was one of the greatest triumphs of Yardley's Black Chamber, decrypting Japanese cables indicating Japan was willing to accept the 5-5-3 ratio in capital ships.1922 - Navy developed its own code bureau, the Code and Signal Section of the Naval Communications Service, that on July 1 became OP-20-G (G section of the 20th Division of the Office of Chief of Naval Operations).1924 - Navy's Laurance Safford organized a radio intelligence division in the OP-20-G, called Room 2646.1926 - Black Chamber assisted in the detection and location of rum-runners and smugglers with Victor Weiskopf in the Justice Department.1929 - Black Chamber closed by Henry Stimson Oct. 31, stopped the reading of secret Japanese diplomatic cables, declared "Gentlemen do not read each other's mail.''1930 - William F. Friedman created the Signal Intelligence Service Apr. 24 within the Army's Signal Corps and improved sigint with the new mechanical cipher machines and with aerial photography.1936 - ONI uncovered the Japanese spy ring of Toshio Miyazaki in California, arrested Harry Thompson, a young ensign who had been recruited by Miyazaki to spy on the Navy.1939 - World War II was a victory for military intelligence agencies, the SIS cryptographers at Arlington Hall, the Navy's OP-20-G that broke the Japanese Purple code, the OSS of William Donovan, the Bell Labs digital SIGSALY system, the Dayton NCR Navy Bombes, the cooperation with the British Tizard Mission and Bletchley Park to break the Ultra cipher and develop radar.ASA field station antenna array at Helemano, Hawaii 19501945 - The SIS was reorganized in 1943 as the Signal Security Service, then as the Signal Security Agency, and on Sept. 15 became a new agency, the Army Security Agency (ASA) with the mandate to establish a worldwide network of listening stations. Vint Hill Farms Station in Warrenton VA had been a listening station during WWII for the Signal Intelligence Service, became an ASA station intercepting Russian radio transmissions.1946 - May 2 study "Preliminary Design of an Experimental World-Circling Spaceship" by the AAF research and engineering division of Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica (that soon became RAND Corp.), proposed a spy satellite in space.1947 - National Security Act of July 26 created the National Military Establishment (DOD), the CIA, the NSC, an independent Air Force, and a cabinet-level Secretary of Defense. Cold War created insecurity and the need for new defense technologies, the rocket and guided missile, jet aircraft, A-bombs.1949 - May 20 the Secretary of Defense signed a secret order creating the Armed Forces Security Agency to oversee the military intelligence agencies (Army Security Agency, Naval Security Group, and Air Force Security Service) but interservice rivalry continued; growing national fear of communist subversion, Alger Hiss, Judith Coplon, first Russian A-bomb tested.1950 - National Security Council Intelligence Directive No. 9 of March 10 created the United States Communications Intelligence Board1950 - Korean War that started June 25 was an intelligence failure, led to reorganization that would create the NSA.1952 - President Harry Truman on Oct. 24 signed a secret 8-page memo that created the National Security Agency (NSA) under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of Defense. Gen. Ralph Julian Canine was first director. The agency was located in Arlington Hall VA and the Naval Security Station in DC until moving to new HQ at Fort Meade MD in 1956. The NSA began as a secret agency that specialized in code-breaking and signal intelligence. From its predecessor, the Armed Forces Security Agency, the NSA inherited the Shamrock program of monitoring international cables that Herbert Osborne Yardley's Black Chamber had started in 1920.So you’ve got this new cable modem and a steady Internet connection from a decent, reasonably priced provider. That vote was 63-28.The hate crimes bill was offered as an amendment to a must-pass defense spending bill that the Senate is expected to finish some time next week. Several Republican amendments to the hate crimes legislation still could be considered on Monday, but Thursday's vote determined that it will be part of the defense bill when it passes. The 1968 hate crimes act covers violence related to a person's race, color, religion or national origin. Federal involvement is confined to a narrow range of circumstances, such as when the victim is using a public facility or attending a public school, serving on a jury or participating in a government program. The proposed legislation, in addition to expanding the categories covered, ends the "federally protected activities" requirement.Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., now being treated for cancer and unable to be on hand for the debate, first proposed the bill in 1997. While coming close on several occasions, he has never been able to overcome opposition from those who contend it infringes on states' rights and First Amendment rights to free speech. Former President George W. Bush said he would veto the bill if it reached his desk. This time, however, pro-bill Democrats control both houses of Congress and Obama is a strong supporter. Attorney General Eric Holder has urged Congress to give his department authority to prosecute cases of violence based on sexual orientation, gender or disability. The measure still has a way to go. Obama has told Congress he will veto the defense bill if it includes more money for an F-22 fighter program he is trying to terminate. The House in April passed a similar hate crimes bill, but did it as independent legislation not tied to a larger bill. The Senate bill, also sponsored by Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., only authorizes federal prosecutions of hate crimes when the state or local authorities are unwilling or unable to do so. It provides $5 million in grants to state and local law enforcement officials who have trouble meeting the costs of investigating and prosecuting these crimes.Reid, D-Nev., recalled that Laramie, Wyo., was overwhelmed by the costs of pursuing the case against Matthew Shepard, the gay college student killed in 1998 whose name is attached to the bill. "When this bill becomes law, that will never happen again in Laramie, Wyo., or anyplace else in the country."Supporters also emphasized that prosecutions under the bill can occur only when bodily injury is involved, and no minister or protester could be targeted for expressing opposition to homosexuality, even if their statements are followed by another person committing a violent action. To emphasize the point, the Senate passed provisions restating that the bill does not prohibit constitutionally protected speech and that free speech is guaranteed unless it is intended to plan or prepare for an act of violence. The Traditional Values Coalition had expressed concern in a letter to senators that a pastor could be prosecuted for "conspiracy to commit a hate crime" if a sermon resulted in a person acting aggressively against someone based on sexual orientation.Another opponent, Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said it was "patently offensive" that violence against one class of victims would be considered worse than violence against others. "We cannot have a colorblind society if we continue to write color-conscious laws," he said. "It violates all the principles of equal justice under the law."Some 45 states have hate crimes statutes on their books, and about half the states have laws covering crimes based on sexual orientation. The FBI receives reports of nearly 8,000 hate crimes every year. Of those, about 15 percent are linked to sexual orientation, which ranks third after those involving race and religion. The Senate hate crimes bill is S. 909.On the Net:Congress: http://thomas.loc.govCopyright © 2009 The Associated Press. Quotes on suffering

The only cure for grief is action. -- George Henry LewesIn this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world. --Jesus ChristIt is a sad thing when you hear Christians with a groan in them. When I meet the groaner, I say in my heart, “God, move that man on into the place where he comprehends what Christianity is.” --John G. LakeIf thou art willing to suffer no adversity, how wilt thou be the friend of Christ? --Thomas à KempisGod will not look you over for medals, degrees, or diplomas, but for scars. -- Elbert HubbardDeep unspeakable suffering may well be called a baptism, a regeneration, the initiation into a new state. -- George EliotIt is through much tribulation that we enter the kingdom of Heaven. --The Apostle PaulDifficult times have helped me to understand better than before, how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way, and that so many things that one goes worrying about are of no importance whatsoever. -- Isak DinesenNo man knows till he has suffered from the night how sweet and dear to his heart and eye the morning can be. --Bram StokerThe deeper that sorrow carves into your being the more joy you can contain. Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven? --Kahlil GibranThe will of God is never exactly what you expect it to be. It may seem to be much worse, but in the end it's going to be a lot better and a lot bigger. --Elisabeth ElliotPain is never permanent. --Teresa of Avila

Stockholm syndrome

The Stockholm Syndrome comes into play when a captive cannot escape and is isolated and threatened with death, but is shown token acts of kindness by the captor. It typically takes about three or four days for the psychological shift to take hold.A strategy of trying to keep your captor happy in order to stay alive becomes an obsessive identification with the likes and dislikes of the captor which has the result of warping your own psyche in such a way that you come to sympathize with your tormenter! The syndrome explains what happens in hostage-taking situations, but can also be used to understand the behavior of battered spouses, members of religious cults, Holocaust victims, household pets, and perhaps even users of Internet Explorer. I think it may also help explain the popularity of government and of the mass institutionalization of young people.

from The Psychology of Torture by Sam Vaknin

There is one place in which one's privacy, intimacy, integrity and inviolability are guaranteed – one's body, a unique temple and a familiar territory of sensa and personal history. The torturer invades, defiles and desecrates this shrine. He does so publicly, deliberately, repeatedly and, often, sadistically and sexually, with undisguised pleasure. Hence the all-pervasive, long-lasting, and, frequently, irreversible effects and outcomes of torture. In a way, the torture victim's own body is rendered his worse enemy. It is corporeal agony that compels the sufferer to mutate, his identity to fragment, his ideals and principles to crumble. The body becomes an accomplice of the tormentor, an uninterruptible channel of communication, a treasonous, poisoned territory. It fosters a humiliating dependency of the abused on the perpetrator. Bodily needs denied – sleep, toilet, food, water – are wrongly perceived by the victim as the direct causes of his degradation and dehumanization. As he sees it, he is rendered bestial not by the sadistic bullies around him but by his own flesh. The concept of "body" can easily be extended to "family", or "home". Torture is often applied to kin and kith, compatriots, or colleagues. This intends to disrupt the continuity of "surroundings, habits, appearance, relations with others", as the CIA put it in one of its manuals. A sense of cohesive self-identity depends crucially on the familiar and the continuous. By attacking both one's biological body and one's "social body", the victim's psyche is strained to the point of dissociation.Beatrice Patsalides describes this transmogrification thus in "Ethics of the Unspeakable: Torture Survivors in Psychoanalytic Treatment":"As the gap between the 'I' and the 'me' deepens, dissociation and alienation increase. The subject that, under torture, was forced into the position of pure object has lost his or her sense of interiority, intimacy, and privacy. Time is experienced now, in the present only, and perspective – that which allows for a sense of relativity – is foreclosed. Thoughts and dreams attack the mind and invade the body as if the protective skin that normally contains our thoughts, gives us space to breathe in between the thought and the thing being thought about, and separates between inside and outside, past and present, me and you, was lost."Torture robs the victim of the most basic modes of relating to reality and, thus, is the equivalent of cognitive death. Space and time are warped by sleep deprivation. The self ("I") is shattered. The tortured have nothing familiar to hold on to: family, home, personal belongings, loved ones, language, name. Gradually, they lose their mental resilience and sense of freedom. They feel alien – unable to communicate, relate, attach, or empathize with others.Torture splinters early childhood grandiose narcissistic fantasies of uniqueness, omnipotence, invulnerability, and impenetrability. But it enhances the fantasy of merger with an idealized and omnipotent (though not benign) other – the inflicter of agony. The twin processes of individuation and separation are reversed.Torture is the ultimate act of perverted intimacy. The torturer invades the victim's body, pervades his psyche, and possesses his mind. Deprived of contact with others and starved for human interactions, the prey bonds with the predator. "Traumatic bonding", akin to the Stockholm Syndrome, is about hope and the search for meaning in the brutal and indifferent and nightmarish universe of the torture cell. The abuser becomes the black hole at the center of the victim's surrealistic galaxy, sucking in the sufferer's universal need for solace. The victim tries to "control" his tormentor by becoming one with him (introjecting him) and by appealing to the monster's presumably dormant humanity and empathy. This bonding is especially strong when the torturer and the tortured form a dyad and "collaborate" in the rituals and acts of torture (for instance, when the victim is coerced into selecting the torture implements and the types of torment to be inflicted, or to choose between two evils). The psychologist Shirley Spitz offers this powerful overview of the contradictory nature of torture in a seminar titled "The Psychology of Torture" (1989):"Torture is an obscenity in that it joins what is most private with what is most public. Torture entails all the isolation and extreme solitude of privacy with none of the usual security embodied therein... Torture entails at the same time all the self-exposure of the utterly public with none of its possibilities for camaraderie or shared experience. (The presence of an all powerful other with whom to merge, without the security of the other's benign intentions.)A further obscenity of torture is the inversion it makes of intimate human relationships. The interrogation is a form of social encounter in which the normal rules of communicating, of relating, of intimacy are manipulated. Dependency needs are elicited by the interrogator, but not so they may be met as in close relationships, but to weaken and confuse. Independence that is offered in return for 'betrayal' is a lie. Silence is intentionally misinterpreted either as confirmation of information or as guilt for 'complicity'.Torture combines complete humiliating exposure with utter devastating isolation. The final products and outcome of torture are a scarred and often shattered victim and an empty display of the fiction of power."Obsessed by endless ruminations, demented by pain and a continuum of sleeplessness – the victim regresses, shedding all but the most primitive defense mechanisms: splitting, narcissism, dissociation, Projective Identification, introjection, and cognitive dissonance. The victim constructs an alternative world, often suffering from depersonalization and derealization, hallucinations, ideas of reference, delusions, and psychotic episodes.Sometimes the victim comes to crave pain – very much as self-mutilators do – because it is a proof and a reminder of his individuated existence otherwise blurred by the incessant torture. Pain shields the sufferer from disintegration and capitulation. It preserves the veracity of his unthinkable and unspeakable experiences. This dual process of the victim's alienation and addiction to anguish complements the perpetrator's view of his quarry as "inhuman", or "subhuman". The torturer assumes the position of the sole authority, the exclusive fount of meaning and interpretation, the source of both evil and good.Torture is about reprogramming the victim to succumb to an alternative exegesis of the world, proffered by the abuser. It is an act of deep, indelible, traumatic indoctrination. The abused also swallows whole and assimilates the torturer's negative view of him and often, as a result, is rendered suicidal, self-destructive, or self-defeating.Thus, torture has no cut-off date. The sounds, the voices, the smells, the sensations reverberate long after the episode has ended – both in nightmares and in waking moments. The victim's ability to trust other people – i.e., to assume that their motives are at least rational, if not necessarily benign – has been irrevocably undermined. Social institutions are perceived as precariously poised on the verge of an ominous, Kafkaesque mutation. Nothing is either safe, or credible anymore.Victims typically react by undulating between emotional numbing and increased arousal: insomnia, irritability, restlessness, and attention deficits. Recollections of the traumatic events intrude in the form of dreams, night terrors, flashbacks, and distressing associations. The tortured develop compulsive rituals to fend off obsessive thoughts. Other psychological sequelae reported include cognitive impairment, reduced capacity to learn, memory disorders, sexual dysfunction, social withdrawal, inability to maintain long-term relationships, or even mere intimacy, phobias, ideas of reference and superstitions, delusions, hallucinations, psychotic microepisodes, and emotional flatness.

A letter from Sister Dianna Ortiz

Dear President Obama,On November 2, 1989, I was burned with cigarettes more than 111 times. I was raped over and over again--and this was only the beginning.During the past few years, I have had ample reason to reflect on the life of an extraordinary man, Jean Amery, an Austrian philosopher who was tortured by the Nazis. I was first introduced to his writings shortly after my own torture in Guatemala. Like many who have survived this unspeakable horror, I emerged from that clandestine prison lost and broken--a body without a soul. Gone was the God to whom I had committed my life. Gone was trust, the very idea of justice betrayed. Gone was all that I had believed in. Everything that defined me as a human being ceased to exist.Amery's words, odd as this may seem, brought some comfort: "Anyone who has been tortured remains tortured." "Anyone who has suffered torture never again will be at ease in the world...faith in humanity, already cracked by the first slap in the face, then demolished by torture, is never acquired again."These words seemed written just for me. Somehow, somewhere on this earth was another person who understood what I had learned at the cruel hands of my torturers. For a moment at least, it gave me peace of mind. It was only years later that I would understand the fundamental meaning of Amery's words: "Anyone who has suffered torture, never again will be at ease in the world." And it was years after this understanding that I would learn that Jean Amery had killed himself.Mr. President, from anonymous graves, voices still cry out. From clandestine prisons, in the midst of indescribable pain, we, my sisters and brothers, beg you to hear. Will you listen to what we alone know of this crime against humanity--what we know from the inside out? Please hear us! Torture does not end with the release from some clandestine prison. It is not something we "get over." Simply, "looking forward" is not an option for us. Torture is a permanent invasion of our minds and our souls. Surviving is far worse that the actual physical torture itself. Those wounds heal in time--but the memories cling to us. Psychological torture is time without end. No one fully recovers from torture. The damage can never be undone. What is our claim to speak with authority on this subject? We have been beaten, hanged by wrists, arms, or legs, burned by electrical devices or cigarettes, bitten by humans and dogs, cut or stabbed with knives or machetes. And this is only a sample of what has been done to us. Each mark, visible or invisible, is a permanent reminder of what was done to us--a reminder that in so many cases fills us with embarrassment and even shame. What a cruel irony that it is the tortured one and not the torturer who feels shame. And what an irony it is that today in the United States, the tortured so often are told that what they experienced was not even cruel and unusual, let alone torture. What an irony that those who oppose torture, oppose the violation of U.S law by acts of non-violent civil resistance can be sent to prison while those who ordered this brutality walk free, receiving the de facto impunity implied in your call to "look forward" and only forward.Mr. President, there is ample reason to believe that important members of the previous administration may well have violated the law. Is it not your responsibility and that of the Attorney General to investigate that possibility? And if the law was violated, is it not your responsibility to hold perpetrators accountable, no matter how exalted their previous positions? We who have paid the dreadful price of torture beseech you to determine just what happened to law and morality during the past eight years and to make those findings public. It is only by an independent investigation that we will learn the truth, and, if that investigation warrants, it will be by prosecution that we may hold to account those who violated the law and despoiled our national honor. Getting things right in the future depends on knowing what went wrong in the past. You know this when it comes to the economy. You know this when it comes to a health care system. How can you not know it when it comes to human rights?Mr. President, on behalf of those who know this cruel subject so well, I ask you to act in service to the truth and to the principle that no matter how high the position held nor how much power accrues to it, its incumbent must be held accountable to the law. As I hope you will agree, sir, to do less is to betray the very idea of justice.Thank you for reading my letter

(AP Photo/Seth Wenig)NEW YORK — Combining its century-old mission of fighting for equality with the instantaneous reach of modern-day technology, the NAACP has launched a program that lets people use their cell phones to report incidents of police misconduct. The "rapid response system" was officially launched Monday as part of the annual convention for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. This year, the organization is marking the centennial of its founding in New York City in 1909.The system allows people who capture photos or video of incidents of alleged police misconduct on their cell phones to send it through a Web browser to the organization or upload it through a computer. A form will then be transmitted to the sender, who can use it to provide more information about an incident."Technology has basically put a video camera in the pocket of every child in this country over the age of 12 and most grown-ups as well," said Benjamin Jealous, president and CEO of the NAACP.He said the information gathered would be used in several ways. Some video could be used immediately, to present footage for a situation the organization wants to highlight. Another purpose would be to compile a database of incidents that could show a history of discriminatory patterns and practices in particular law enforcement jurisdictions _ information the group could take to the Justice Department. The head of the Justice Department, Attorney General Eric Holder, praised the NAACP's dedication to championing equality but acknowledged the work left to be done."We must resist the temptation to conclude that our nation has fulfilled its promise of equality based on one moment or on one election," he said, in reference to Barack Obama being elected president."The efforts to harmonize our laws with our best ideals is not yet done," he said.Monique Morris, the group's vice president of advocacy and research, said the ease of reporting an incident will help give a clearer picture of the prevalence of misconduct."What this database will provide is a more accurate account in real time of what's happening in our communities," she said.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEWednesday, July 15, 2009WWW.USDOJ.GOVCRM(202) 514-2007TDD (202) 514-1888http://www.usdoj.gov/opa/pr/2009/July/09-crm-684.htmlHouston Computer Administrator Sentenced to Two Years in Prison for Hacking Former Employer’s Computer NetworkThe former director of information technology for a non-profit organ and tissue donation center was sentenced today to two years in prison for hacking into her former employer’s computer network.Danielle Duann, 51, of Houston, pleaded guilty on April 30, 2009, to a one-count criminal indictment charging her with unauthorized computer access. Duann was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge David Hittner in the Southern District of Texas. In addition to the two-year prison term, Judge Hittner sentenced Duann to a three-year period of supervised release following completion of her prison sentence, and ordered her to pay $94,222 in restitution to compensate her former employer for the damage that resulted from her actions. In pleading guilty, Duann admitted to illegally accessing the computer network of LifeGift Organ Donation Center and then intentionally deleting organ donation database records, accounting invoice files, database and accounting software applications and various backup files, without authorization. LifeGift is the sole provider of organ procurement services for more than 200 hospitals throughout 109 counties in North, Southeast and West Texas.According to court documents, LifeGift terminated Duann from her position as their director of information technology on Nov. 7, 2005, and revoked all of her previous administrative rights and access to the LifeGift computer network. In pleading guilty, Duann admitted that beginning on the evening of Nov. 7, 2005, and continuing until Nov. 8, 2005, she repeatedly gained unauthorized access to the LifeGift computer network via a remote connection from her home and intentionally caused damage by deleting numerous database files and software applications, as well as their backups, related to LifeGift’s organ and tissue recovery operations.Duann further admitted that in an attempt to conceal her activities, she disabled the computer logging functions on several LifeGift computer servers and erased the computer logs that recorded her remote access to the LifeGift networkThis case was investigated by the FBI and is being jointly prosecuted by Trial Attorney Thomas Dukes of the Criminal Division’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Bret W. And countries that prospered from the slave trade must examine the origins of present-day social inequality and work to unravel mistrust between communities. Above all, even as we mourn the atrocities committed against the countless victims, we take heart from the courage of slaves who rose up to overcome the system which oppressed them."Secretary-General Ban Ki-moonListen to the Drumbeat (Video)http://www.un.org/en/slavery/#videoBROADCAST QUALITY DOWNLOAD (MPEG-2 with 8 MBPS)The three-minute video invites viewers to organize events on 25 March in Commemoration of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. It moves across cultures to show how the trade has influenced countries and artistic genres all over the world. A big bang on a drum symbolizes the beginning of the trade. From that point, we follow the dances and polyphonic rhythms of the African continent to a range of musics and dances in the Americas. From cow bells to talking drums, from mystic drums to candomblé, from ngoni to berimbau, the fighting and mystic spirit of drums accompanied enslaved black people everywhere, and the dance moves and sounds have remained almost intact. In Asia, in the Americas, in the Middle East, in Europe, rituals of African slaves and their soulful drumming touched all civilizations. With salsa, rumba, blues, jazz, rock and roll, hip hop, and fusion but also Asian drumming, qawwali and ghazals, drums were never silenced. They brought the capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian art form that makes a ritual of movements from martial arts marked by fluid acrobatic play and feints. The drum beat, slow and fast at times like a West African tempo from the Gold Coast, sad or joyful from tango to meringue, remains consistent in its universal appeal. Indeed, drums continue to carry to men and women of all color and creed a message that all understand: it is the soothing or haunting sound of freedom, even when journeys are harsh or long. Everywhere, drums give birth to a simple truth: every time you beat the drum, you break the silence.

Philippe Sands book titled "The Torture Team" is profound as it speaks to these methodologies that I have experienced as a TI.As a TI I know that the torture at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib are a "by-product" of something much more sinister that is going on in our world. My hope is that one day these programs will be exposed and to that end The Ominous Parallels website seeks to educate the public about these kinds of weapons, operations, players and the effect it is having on our world.More important is how the inhumane actions of our government parallels that of Nazi Germany between 1933 - 1945.This is REAL; TIs need some kind of safe haven!Love "Light" and Energy_Donhttp://www.scribd.com/doc/13743356/CoVeR-lEtTeR-the-OmInOuS-Parallelshttp://www.scribd.com/doc/13743550/The-OmInOuS-Parallels [Read with discernment]http://www.scribd.com/doc/13743647/NeWs-SiNcE-rEpOrT-rElEaSei

They want us to remember

We give them bits and pieces of our past in our memories, our dreamsand with what we tell others, and they need this information to form acomposite of picture of us as criminals, or as sex slaves, any way to frameus over and over again to justify and satisfy their need to know, which is why theDJ yesterday said, “We have some bush coming up...and who doesn’tlike a new bush?” This is a reference to what a drunk man said to mewhen I was 13 years old and they want to know if I did anything sexuallywith him or if anything happened with the kids I was babysitting for, theywant to reframe the scene of the crime, and to do this, they drop commentsor suggestions that will get me thinking along those terms. They areworking for the government, these reporters and DJ’s, because thegovernment are the main players in wanting us to remember, or, forinstance, they want to create a sex slave in me, so they will use all kindsof moments from the past that I’m supposed to draw up as reference andas definition of who I am, so that I accept the plans they have for me.The goal at all times is to use our own minds to control us, to seek waysin which they use dreams, memories, emotions, thoughts, voices, anythingthat can be turned on us in a way of creating the scenario they are lookingfor.

A nice website dedicated to Woody Guthrie, the American folk legend. A great song writer. Very prolific. Some of his lyrics were set to contemporary music recently on a CD 'Wonderwheel'.Woody Guthrie.orgPhotos show his anti-fascist sentiment. Why are we still fighting fascists? It's because it's a social system arranged around psychological disorder, not a political philosophy. It will and has had many faces. We have not been looking at the correct issue. This is the basis for Citizens That Know.

'Michael Clayton'

Why is it that countless books have been written and widely read, like '1984', and big-budget films, like 'Michael Clayton' have been created and widely viewed yet we live in a culture of denial about what IS going on? Citizens That Know believes it's because mainstream cultural knowledge has become the domain and has been disseminated by people who cannot know truth. They present truth through their warped sense of it. The root of this problem are those with Narcissistic Personality Disorder that demand control of our society and our conforming to their view of it, despite what we actually know to be true, ourselves. We've all been made into enablers...until now. The internet allows us to hear our own voices.'Michael Clayton' TrailerGeorge Clooney, Lead Actor, 'Michael Clayton'People with 'Narcissistic Personality Disorder' feel 'entitled' to 'fix' and 'manipulate' the world around them in any way that suits their immediate need. If you say 'No', they will try to bully and intimidate, or they simply change direction. But they can never change their 'thinking'. They are incapable of this as their behavior isn't based on rational and socially conscious thinking. THEY cannot change. But, we can change the way we form social systems that deal with this, and our awareness and response to their behavior on a day to day basis. It is around us all the time. Many people are afflicted with NPD. Many more are enablers, and balance their own weaknesses by connecting with these disordered people or systems. In the film 'Michael Clayton' it isn't clear why the Tom Wilkinson character is manic depressive, why he chooses to go off medication, and then 'strips down' in a meeting. Realize that the technology used in the film, particularly in relation to this character, sends up red flags that there are advanced technologies in use to 'manage', manipulate and 'fix' things. There are 'mind control' technologies. These can easily put thoughts and ideas into a person's mind without them being aware that it's not their own thoughts. ['Enemies', political and otherwise, can be made to compulsively do things that will get them into trouble.] It is in use in the military to give orders to officers in the field. People who pose an inconvenience are being disposed of as in this film. You don't have to be stepping outside of your house. They'll come right in and 'zap' you while you're asleep. They may not kill you, just inject you with something for experimentation or just for amusement. You can not lock your living space securely enough. How fitting, also, that this film pivots around a company that sells a 'deadly weed killer'. It is our disconnect from the web of life that brings us to this. Yes, it refers to companies like Monsanto, and holding patents on the genetics of plants and livestock. But, it comes much earlier than that when humans became 'unbalanced' and began disrespecting nature and leaving it out of the balance of how we live as a society. We have no time to waste... say 'NO'.

They want me dead, and if they can't finally stop seeing through my eyes so that I'm dead, they want everything taken away from me, the kids, the jobs, the money, the respect, the road that goes back through the countryside that surrounds me.Who are they?Parenting reporters, columnists, other reporters, anchormen, internet reporters, internet search engines, DJs, production crews for television shows, actors, actresses, writers for television shows, authors (including Lisa Tucker, the offending book of her I just finished) poets, publishers, musical groups, former co-workers, current employers, former employers, cystic fibrosis foundation members, Down syndrome foundation members, NAMI, local priests, local teachers and principals and former teachers and principals, neighbors, long lost friends, and people in the family.Anybody I'm leaving out? I'm sure there are many more. Newspapers, magazines, corporate america.I pray that these people will pay for what they have done to me. Anyone who has viewed me and my children, or viewed through me and my children, read our minds and watched our dreams, and made their judgement calls according to some good and normal world that doesn't exist anymore, and never came to my rescue after years and years now of electronic torture, I pray they will one day burn in hell, if not here on earth, then in the afterlife.

Required.Dear [Decision Maker],As a supporter of the American Humane Association, I support legislation to improve early-childhood education programs and increase funding.Congress has before it several bills that would improve access to quality preschool and early child-development programs for children under 6. They include HR 555, the Universal Prekindergarten Act; HR 702, the Providing Resources Early for Kids Act; HR 1755, the Rural Early Education Access Act; and HR 2184, the Prepare All Kids Act.President Obama mentioned the need for improved early-education programs during his campaign. These bills would be a move in the right direction to reach this goal. The long-term benefits of early education are widely acknowledged and it is time for Congress to pass legislation to help give children a strong start in life. Children should be a main priority of this nation and early education is one way to demonstrate this commitment. Please personalize your messagePlease support this important legislation. Please support early education.Sincerely,Metric Clay1701 Ridley LaneStarkville, MS 39759-8967http://capwiz.com/wagingpeace/issues/alert/?alertid=13704431 TAKE ACTION ON Tell President Obama to Make Drastic Nuclear Cutshttp://action.panna.org/t/5185/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=1176 TAKE ACTION ONhttp://www.capwiz.com/wand/issues/alert/?alertid=13699346&type=TA TAKE ACTION ON Support President's efforts to create a new START agreementt Support President's efforts to create a new START agreementthttp://www.capwiz.com/wand/callalert/index.tt?alertid=13699296&type=CO TAKE ACTION ON Cut the F-22, stop wasteful spending Call your Senators the week of July 6, 2009http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/1312/t/9277/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=27262 TAKE ACTION ON Write your representatives and the President to support a single payer national health care system.http://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/5154/t/6562/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=1795 TAKE ACTION ON Oppose Puerto Rico’s Plan for a Massive Primate Breeding Facilityhttp://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/1170/t/3716/petition.jsp?petition_KEY=1996 TAKE ACTION ON Why is the NAACP Hosting Army Recruiters at its National Convention?http://action.citizen.org/t/6693/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=27576 TAKE ACTION ONhttps://online.nwf.org/site/Advocacy?JServSessionIdr011=lwpwxjwwr1.app39a&cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=949 TAKE ACTION ONhttp://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/2167/t/5243/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=27584 TAKE ACTION ON Speak Up for a Strong Endangered Species Act Todayhttp://action.earthjustice.org/campaign/roadless_0709/w3ks7bd4y775tmxb? The most sophisticated classified weapons in the US military arsenal are being used to target political activists and whistleblowers. Three previous illegal government programs have been combined into one. The Phoenix Program, Project MKULTRA, and Cointelpro have been combined into the current illegal government program that uses microwave weapons against potential enemies on a hit list. The Phoenix Program was the Vietnam War era assassination campaign targeting civilians in a war crime that violated the Geneva Convention. Project MKULTRA was the CIA crash program to decode the secrets of the human mind by using severe trauma and drugs to break the human mind in order to manipulate and control it. Cointelpro was the FBI secret counterinsurgency war waged against the Civil Rights Movement, the Anti-War movement, the Women’s Movement, and even the Environmental Movement. The government was waging an undeclared war against basically every progressive group in society. Elements of all three illegal programs have been combined into a modern day secret dirty war being waged against loyal Americans. Nonlethal microwave weapons were used by the USSR to attack the US embassy in Moscow in the 1950’s. These attacks went on for decades and were kept secret from the American people and the embassy employees. The US began a crash program called Project Pandora to develop our own microwave weapons. These weapons are the crown jewels of the military intelligence community because they have plausible deniability. Attacks with chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons, or attacks from bullets all leave physical traces. Nonlethal microwave weapons can disable and kill a target without leaving physical traces and this gives the assassin plausible deniability. The Pentagon terms slow kill, soft kill, and silent kill refer to the ability to assassinate targets with non-ionizing radiation that simulates a heart attack, cerebral hemorrhage, a cancer, or other condition that appears a normal cause of death. There exist public examples of these classified weapons. The Active Denial System is a public nonlethal microwave weapon that uses a 95 GHZ electronic beam to instantly heat the skin to 130 degrees and this weapon functions as a pain amplification device. Milliwave radars are military radars used for house to house fighting such that building materials are transparent but human bodies are easily identified inside buildings. Only the most benign microwave weapons have been made public to avoid a public backlash. The Joint Special Operations Command possess more advanced and lethal microwave weapons that can track and target people in any weather or terrain 24 hours a day. These weapons are so secret that they were only brought into the Iraq War when it appeared that the US forces might lose. High level Al Qaeda personalities were tracked and recorded 24 hours a day and assassinated at will. These same revolutionary technologies are being used to illegally track and target civilians on a hit list in the US and other nations in a secret dirty war. The man in charge of developing nonlethal microwave weapons for Army Intelligence since the 1980’s, Lt Col John B. Alexander, worked to move these classified microwave weapons from the DOD to the DOJ and into the hands of local law enforcement to use against domestic enemies on a hit list. Army intelligence officer Lt Col Michael Aquino has publically advocated using these classified weapons against civilians in their own homes. This is exactly what is happening to hundreds of victims that the author has interviewed in person. Hundreds of people who live in different parts of the country and have never met are telling basically the same story. They are targets of vigilante violence in the community including organized stalking and attacks from nonlethal microwave weapons in their homes. The majority of 200 targets interviewed have a history of political activism or are whistleblowers who have denounced criminal activity. The victims are all ages, including children, and all races, but the average target is a female in her forties with an IQ of 120 and a history of political activism. The target profiles are very similar to the target profiles of previous illegal programs such as Cointelpro and MKULTRA. This secret dirty war may be part of a very ambitious undeclared war of counterinsurgency and political infiltration. These weapons are a revolution in military affairs, an invention that turns the world upside down similar to the invention of nuclear weapons. It is imperative for an independent investigation of these war crimes, one with no ties to the administration or the intelligence services. Failing this aggressive investigation of Alexander, Aquino, the directors of the NSA and Army Intelligence, then our citizens are liable to selective assassination and our Republic is vulnerable to destabilization.marshall gregory thomasRussian Military Equipment in USA-taken by a former US General In Michigan- CAMP CRAYLING MI & New MexicoThese were taken by a former US Military Generalhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/freedomfightersforamerica/attachments/folder/25576749/item/1643455845/viewhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/freedomfightersforamerica/attachments/folder/25576749/item/1643455845/viewrussian

#597a Middletown, Rhode Island Planning to Put RFID Chips On ChildrenThere is always more to the story than what we are told Bob. For instance the news cast had just done a report on Middletown RI police receiving large amounts of money with my congressman Patrick Kennedy there for the occasion and having brokered the deal under the "COPS" program. That is a program that brings advanced technology, personnel trained in the use and pays for over time with the feds paying 75 cents on the dollar. It is likely the school chip program was related to this "Cops" program seeing the stories ran back to back and were in the same town. While my attacks, surveillance, MEDUSA attack, forced suicide and torture took place I notice my congressman also announced on his web site how he had brought my police millions of dollars through the "COPS" program to my police department.Just like a harmless surveillance tool like millimeter wave surveillance can be used to find survivors in a collapsed building so can it be part of a torture weapons system and lie detector when used with V2K.To get a better idea of how this technology may be misused look up the Sheri Peak case. It was here stalking case that led the then Senator Biden and another senator to make January anti-stalking month. Her husband, Rob Peak and the manager of a car repair chain on the west cost stalked using technology and software that was never revealed as to how he got it. He hard wired a cell phone into her car while their marriage was breaking up. The phone could be called at any time to listen in on her conversations. Being hard wired the car actually kept it continually charged. When she would start the car this phone would automatically call him.She was hysterical by the time she went to police much like a TI being stalked. He knew where she went and when and had software to track all of this on her computer. She bought new locks to keep him out but he knew when she was gone and broke into the house and stole the extra set of keys that came with the locks. He would leave a coffee on her car just before she left in the morning and would show up all the time at a distance where ever she went.Rob was caught and convicted of stalking and got 6 months. I called the police department outside of Seattle Washington where the detective worked who solved the case. The police department claimed to not know anything about the case even though the story had been on ,"Dateline as a feature news story" with pictures of the police station(I taped it). They claimed the detective had left the department and they didn't know where she had left to. I don't believe any of that it is an obvious cover-up of technology they don't want the public to know about. They had to rip the entire interior of her SUV apart to find the device and were beginning to think she was paranoid and delusional. She said later they she near the end of her rope that people can't understand what it is like to have people stalking you. She had even gone to a coworkers to see about getting a puppy for the kids when it was later found out that her husband Rob Peak had shown up at this coworkers house asking if he could use his phone and after was asking all kinds of odd questions about hot women at work. they happened to be talking about this strange event when Sheri pulled out a picture of her husband and the coworker identified him as the guy who asked to use his phone. I will bet he discovered she went there and then went to discover if this guy was having an affair with his wife while getting this guys phone number possibly to tap his line somehow. Sounds completely like perp shit to me.At Rob peak's residence they found the missing keys and all of the passwords to bank accounts and computer sites. This guy knew absolutely everything about her and what she was doing.Peter Rosenholm

In Loving Memory of Frank J. Kucinich, Jr.

Dear Friends,

I wanted you to know that my beloved brother Frank J. Kucinich, Jr. was buried this morning. He died suddenly of a heart attack on June 30th.

Frank was a United States Marine, a distinguished veteran of the Vietnam War, the founder of several veterans' organizations, and a wonderful, gentle, humble soul who travelled life's path with me for the last 60 years.

Frank's passing was sudden and unexpected, a great shock to our family. I shall miss him very much. Please keep him in your prayers.

Much love,
Dennis Kucinich

Plain Dealer story posted Dec. 19:

Perry Kucinich, 52, the youngest brother of Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, was found dead Wednesday morning at his apartment above Becker's Donuts & Bakery on East 71st Street in Cleveland.

His brother Larry found him face down on the kitchen floor at about 9 a.m., Powell Caesar, spokesman for the Cuyahoga County Frank Miller, said.

"Being face down doesn't indicate anything," Caesar said. "Whatever happened to him, gravity took hold, and he went down. There was no blunt force. No trauma. No sign of foul play."

The exact cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Larry Kucinich had taken his brother shopping Tuesday and then took him home but couldn't get an answer when he tried calling him Wednesday morning, Caesar said.

Dennis Kucinich, who represents the 10th U.S. congressional district in northeast Ohio, returned from Washington after learning of his brother's death.

Upon arriving in Cleveland, the congressman said that his brother was a talented artist whose style and structure was influenced by such modern artists as Paul Klee and Pablo Picasso.

"He was a genius," the congressman said. "He had extraordinary insights. Although he struggled with mental illness, with the help of friends and family he led a productive life. We are a close family. It's just devastating."

Perry Kucinich, the fifth of Frank and Virginia Kucinich's seven children, died eight days after his 52nd birthday and nearly 29 years to the day after he became world famous for robbing a bank.

On Dec. 18, 1978, while then-Mayor Dennis Kucinich was downtown withdrawing money to make a symbolic gesture in protest of Cleveland Trust's refusal to refinance $5 million in notes the city owed that bank, Perry Kucinich, then 22, was making an unauthorized withdrawal from a Central National Bank branch on the East Side of town.

The mayor withdrew nearly $9,200 from his personal savings and checking accounts at Cleveland Trust.

His brother, unarmed, wearing a red tassel cap, sunglasses and black leather jacket, handed a teller at a Christmas card with "All your $ or die" written on the back. He took along a light blue suitcase in which to carry the stolen $1,396.

Following the colorful description offered by witnesses, Cleveland police caught up with Perry Kucinich as he was walking home, reading the card and smiling.

Then Mayor Kucinich told reporters that Perry had been under psychiatric care for five years.

"I'm sure that he did not really understand what he was doing," he said.

Reports of the event were published internationally.

Two months later, Perry Kucinich was deemed incompetent to stand trail on a federal bank robbery charge.

He is survived by his brothers, Dennis, Larry, Frank and Gary; and sisters, Theresa and Beth Ann.

What a moronic comment.

moneyman2007, if you die today at 2 PM, I hope that someone wildly, and without foundation, publicly speculates about the cause of your death, too.

#597 Middletown, Rhode Island Planning to Put RFID Chips On ChildrenThis is how it starts, of course they already know where I am 24/7/365.25, they just had to accuse me of bomb making to unleash a multitude of attacks and government covert programs, MEDUSA, involuntary commitment and then screwed with me for over a day unconscious. Am I chipped? The attempt at forced suicide and torture was also a great exercise to be performed in a controlled environment. The attack on my rights including searching my home and never disclosing a thing to me is where they are headed. This monitoring of children may be how they will make the claim that they are actually protecting us and our children. If they really wanted to protect children they wouldn't have forced my last to children to quit school. At the same time telling me that my son had the highest average in his English class where his teacher was going to fail him and force him to stay back and that he had a genius IQ might be the problem. When my daughter quit her chemistry teacher and geometry teachers passed her even though she didn't take the finals. Does our targeting include our children? Both are going to college after taking there GED. My son is about to start his last year in a bachelor's program in computer game programming. He had to join the military and served a year in Iraq to help get him through school after my life was sabotaged. Is this how they plan to protect children or are they really trying to control them?Peter RosenholmMiddletown, Rhode Island Planning to Put RFID Chips On Children2008-06-25 17:40:00This is apparently a true story, happening right now: ACLU ISSUES ALARM ABOUT MIDDLETOWN PLAN TO ELECTRONICALLY MONITOR SCHOOL CHIDREN There are two methods of tracking, school buses and children’s backpacks (what are they going to do about the kids without backpacks? Each chip would be programmed with a student identification number, and would be read by an external device installed in one of two school buses. The buses would also be fitted with global positioning system (GPS) devices.Parents or school officials could log onto a school web site to see whether and when specific children had entered or exited which bus, and to look up the bus’s current location as provided by the GPS device. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has criticized the plan as an invasion of children’s privacy and a potential risk to their safety."There’s absolutely no need to be tagging children," said Stephen Brown, executive director of the ACLU’s Rhode Island chapter. According to Brown, the school district should already know where its students are."[This program is] a solution in search of a problem," Brown said. The school district says that its current plan is no different than other programs already in place for parents to monitor their children’s school experience. For example, parents can already check on their children’s attendance records and what they have for lunch, said district Superintendent Rosemary Kraeger.Brown disputed this argument. The school is perfectly entitled to track its buses, he said, but "it’s a quantitative leap to monitor children themselves." He raised the question of whether unauthorized individuals could use easily available RFID readers to find out students’ private information and monitor their movements.Because the pilot program is being provided to the school district at no cost, it did not require approval from the Rhode Island ethics commission.
